Crawl out of the darkness just to crawl back inside The light offering no comfort only burns my eyes Standing in the shadow of illusion, the mirror telling lies Hides the sorrow, the clenched teeth, this half smile I want to…

Call of the Goddess

Goddess: The Morrigan

Journal entry 12/10/2017 / Poem inspiration.

One of The Goddesses I feel strongly connected to is The Morrigan as well as crows, they seem to follow me, usually appearing in threes. This afternoon while laying in bed not wanting to move, to face another nothing day struggling with my depression they came with their relentless cawing which inspired me to get up, this poem rolling around in my head and as soon as I rose, poem complete they were gone.

Bird Song

Poem inspiration

I was sitting with my coffee looking out the window watching for the birds, so far it had been quiet
then
suddenly one appeared, perched himself on the branch closest to my window and began to
sing his heart out.
Soon more birds appeared and they seemed to join in and as they were singing
this poem came to me. As soon as
I wrote it down the birds were gone and it was quiet again.
